Croatia 8 day itinerary ✈️Zagreb -plitvice national park -split-brac-vis-✈️split

Day 1:
We arrived at Zagreb airport and picked up our rental car with Avis. We then drove 2hrs to plitvice which was roughly 200km. The journey was lovely as the motorways were practically empty and even I noticed how smooth the roads felt beneath us. The weather was just right- just hot enough to have the windows wide open and the music up loud! Happy days
With no trouble at all with the directions (cos I was reading the map) we arrived at our first b&b called Etno house. It’s worth noting that all of our bookings were done before we travelled at http://www.booking.com. It was a very reasonable €60 stay for one night (our room overlooked the pool and had free wifi)
The friendly receptionist recommended a restaurant called Vila Velabita which was delicious.I recommend the spit pork or lamb. Dinner cost 177 kuna.

Day 2:
We woke early and drove ten minutes to plitvice car park 2 for 9am (cost 70 kuna to park).
Did trail H which cost 110 kuna each and took 3hrs (didn’t stop for lunch). The time we arrived was definitely the best so I would highly recommend staying in Plitvice the night before your day at the waterfalls to ensure it isn’t too busy. When we were leaving it had really filled up with lots of tourists from all over the globe. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been for sure and has now cemented our deep love for waterfalls. Looking forward to seeing many more on our travels.
We drove to split which took 3 1/2 hrs roughly 270km. We dropped our hire car back to split airport and then got a shuttle bus to split town 30 kuna each (or 300 for taxi) ready to start our Island hopping 🙂
We stayed one night at Martina apartment on Omiska Road 300 kuna (clean room but very small. Lovely host and free wifi) close to port for our early departure for the ferry. It was ran by a very friendly lady who made us a traditional pastry dish on our arrival. G ate all of them and I never got a look in so they must have been tasty.
